Mike Heap, the chief executive of Entertainment Rights, confirmed that talks were taking place with a number of different film makers but refused to give details. Universal and Twentieth Century, the Hollywood studios, had approached the British company Entertainment Rights about a possible film version of Postman Pat. A number of leading American film studios, including Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Brothers and Universal Pictures, were understood to be among those seeking to acquire the film rights to a string of British television favourites, including Postman Pat. On 11 October 2004, it was announced that Postman Pat could soon be a star of the big screen if Hollywood bosses get their way. Postman Pat: The Movie is a CGI feature film based on Postman Pat.
