Works on any Windows version that has Direct X. The game is as simple as a breakout (or an Arkanoid) clone but with powerups and addictive gameplay. It was pre-loaded from the friendly computer-guy from my moms company. However, there are also bonus levels which the player can access if they manage to clear the screen quickly enough. I came along DX-Ball at the end of elementary school, when my first computer arrived at home. The game gets progressively harder as the player moves through the levels, with more and more bricks appearing on the screen.
These include extra balls, which the player can use if they lose their current one longer paddles, which make it easier to hit the ball and bombs, which destroy all the bricks on the screen. There are a number of different power-ups that can appear on the screen, which the player can collect to help them clear the level. The catch is that the ball can only bounce off of the paddle a certain number of times before it disappears, and if the player doesn't break all the bricks on the screen before this happens, they lose a life.
